The chimney called “La Ramona” is one of the most visited and photographed places by thousands of local, national and international tourists, who are amazed by its history and infrastructure, remember that its construction ended in the year of 1890, on San Ramón’s Day, that is, August 31 of the aforementioned year.

The La Ramona chimney measures 47 meters high, being built by the mining company El Progreso, history has also made mention that the person who carried out this construction was Gustav Eiffel, who made the Eiffel tower in Paris, France, thus creating a myth that remains in the air, since there is no proof of it, but rather urban legends.

“La Ramona” has witnessed the glories and failures of the mines that extracted gold and silver, and about 300 meters long there is another chimney called “La Julia”.

Time no longer forgives the chimney of “La Ramona”, little by little its bricks were worn out, but in 2017 the civil association of the Carem Historical Corridor and the International Community Foundation (ICF) carried out a restoration initiative with the owners. legal ownership, since the chimney needed 3,500 bricks.

In April 2018, restoration work began, a fact that filled the residents of El Triunfo with joy and jubilation, since it is one of the most beautiful treasures possible from what it was in its best times.

Currently, the chimney looks strong and in all its splendor as it was restored, making it one of the most iconic places not only in El Triunfo, but also in BCS.

It should be noted that El Triunfo has many places full of history that without a doubt must be visited, since the people who live in the community continue to preserve their customs and habits, a fact that makes it even more interesting because it is a hug that exists between the past and current history.
