The Pearl Farm in La Paz is a unique experience that blends history, marine science, and the beauty of the Sea of Cortez. If you’re planning to join this fascinating tour, here are some recommendations to help you make the most of your visit.

1. Arrive Ready to Learn

The tour is interactive and educational. You’ll discover how pearls are cultivated and why La Paz pearls are among the most coveted in the world. Listen closely during the historical introduction—you’ll learn that even Queen Elizabeth’s crown features a pearl from La Paz!

2. Enjoy Hands-On Experiences

You’ll get to interact with live marine organisms such as pearl oysters, crabs, sea urchins, starfish, and colorful fish. Take your time to observe and ask questions. The guides are experts and love to share their knowledge about marine life and pearl cultivation.

3. Visit the Laboratory

Don’t miss the chance to see the laboratory where oysters are cultivated. This behind-the-scenes look at the pearl creation process is one of the highlights of the tour.

4. Explore the Pearl Jewelry Shop

At the end of the tour, you’ll visit the exclusive jewelry shop. Here, you can admire and, if you wish, purchase unique pearl pieces of different shapes, sizes, and colors. Each piece tells a story of the sea.

5. Transportation Options

  • Roundtrip Transportation: For your convenience, we offer roundtrip transportation from your hotel to the Pearl Farm for 800 MXN (up to 10 people). This is the most comfortable and reliable option, especially for families and groups. Message

  • Taxi: You can also take a taxi from your hotel. Taxis are available throughout La Paz and can drop you off directly at the Pearl Farm.

  • Bus: We do not recommend taking the bus. Public transportation is not reliable in timing, and you will need to walk a considerable distance under the sun from the nearest stop to the Pearl Farm.

6. Practical Tips

  • The tour lasts about two hours. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a hat or sunscreen, as some parts are outdoors.

  • Bring water, especially on hot days. Drinks are available for purchase.

  • The tour is suitable for all ages.

  • Pets are not allowed.

7. Booking and Policies

  • Reserve your spot in advance, especially during high season.

  • If you need transportation, ask about the round-trip shuttle service from your hotel.

8. Support Local Conservation

The Pearl Farm follows strict sustainability guidelines. By visiting, you support marine conservation and responsible tourism in La Paz.

9. Capture the Moment

Bring your camera or phone to capture the vibrant marine life, the laboratory, and of course, the beautiful pearl jewelry.

10. Ask for Recommendations

Before you leave, ask your guide for tips on other local attractions, restaurants, or experiences in La Paz. They’re happy to help you plan the rest of your adventure.

A visit to the Pearl Farm is more than a tour—it’s a journey into the natural and cultural heritage of La Paz. Enjoy every moment, learn something new, and take home a memory from the sea.
